May is Mama's Month: Pooja

Alf the Label Mother's Day Mama's Month

May is Mama's Month here at Alf, and we will be bringing you profiles of three different Alf mamas. This week it's one of our Alf #mummunity, Pooja, with her gorgeous daughter Rahni, 5 months old.

We absolutely loved having Pooja, and little Rahni, along for a shoot in their beautiful home. We also sat down to chat with her about her first Mother's Day, and what she loves most about new motherhood.

Can you think of one tradition/memory you remember doing with your mum that you are planning to continue doing with Rahni in the future?

So the first tradition would be that I used to make my mum breakfast in bed when I was really young with my brother. I remember making a cup of tea and it turned out green, and I gave it to her. So that tradition I would love to carry on for Rahni. She would make it for me when she's a little bit older.

What are you most excited to do on your first Mother’s Day?

I'm most excited about this Mother's Day to just be with my family and my husband and Rahni. Rahni is my rainbow baby, so I've been thinking about this day for a very long time. It's going to be super special and I'm super excited.

What has been the best part of your motherhood journey so far?

So far, the best thing in motherhood is the unconditional love that you have for this little human being and the amount of love that you can give, which is so beautiful. The smiles, and the giggles, and the way she looks at me is just the best feeling in the world. It's honestly the best thing I've done in my whole life. It's super challenging yet super rewarding at the same time.

Pooja is a long time member of our Alf #mummunity. When she came to our Fremantle HQ to pick up a purchase, Sophie practically chased her down the street to ask if she'd like to be a part of our Mama's Month campaign. We hope Pooja had an amazing first Mother's Day!

We acknowledge that Mother's Day can be a hard day for those without their mum, whether it be through distance, passing, or circumstance, and we are sending all our love and thoughts to those of you in our #mummunity.
